..:: 20 years StarinkWorld - a "brief" retrospection [6] ::..
Somewhere in 2014 Ruben decided to move his wiki website from edstarink.info to ed.starink.wiki which was a nice stroke, but led me into changing all related links on StarinkWorld - again. ;-)In the meantime I was trying to clean-up the sometimes a bit messy HTML code on the StarinkWorld website. I hope I was somewhat successful with that.
In July 2014 I conducted the interview with Bertjan van Eijsden, the creator of most of the cover artworks for the Synthesizer Greatest/Synthétiseur series. This interview was a great opportunity to clear some things up, such as my misassumption that Bertjan was somehow related to Studio Myosotis. For someone who stands on the sidelines Bertjan's thoughts and insights in this kind of art and working are really enlightening. It's very interesting to learn how an artist like Bertjan got from the first sketch to the final result for a cover artwork. You should have a look onto it.
From Glenn Folkvord's interview with Ed I adopted a final question for lots of my interviews which is "what's your favourite colour?" and Bertjan's answer on this was: "How can I choose from more than 16 million colours!". Indeed!
Also in 2014 we started another Facebook group: Synthesizer Greatest. This one was created in addition to the already existing Ed Starink group.
2015 began with a sad message as Demis Roussos died at the age of 68. Ed Starink did a lot of productions for and with Demis Roussos and they were befriended as well.
Unfortunately I couldn't conduct a planned interview with Demis anymore, nevertheless I prepared an article about him especially for the Starink website with some nice photographies from the private archive of Ed Starink. To be found under "Related Artists".
During 2015 we also established the "Synthesizer Greatest" webradio station. First it was planned as a station which solely "air" music from the Synthesizer Greatest and Synthétiseur albums, but due to rules and regulations in Germany this is not possible. Thus the playlist also contains original tracks.
At a certain point the station was renamed into "SG Radio" – although it has still its focus on instrumental and electronic music, the station provides a huge variety of music. You should have a listen @www.sgradio.eu!
At this juncture I would like to thank Rogier van Gemert who helped me a lot with that webradio. For example he designed the new logo, made most of the jingles and he is also the "station voice". Thank you!
Well, I hope I did not forget anything…
